Problema aici nu este timpul gerunziului - present sau perfect [ lying sau having lied ]- [ amandoua se potrivesc in context ], ci expresia "a minti pe cineva" care in engleza este "a minti cuiva", adica : in limba romana verbul cere complement direct, dar in limba engleza verbul cere complement indirect. Deci A MINTI PE CINEVA = TO LIE TO SOMEBODY. e.g. Don't LIE TO ME, please! // I lied TO my mother. // How many times HAVE YOU LIED TO them?
