SUBIECTUL I (30 de puncte)

Read the text below and complete the following tasks.

Some well-off private-school students are stepping out in designer gowns, but designer Alex Perry says buying an expensive dress isn't the most important factor in looking good.

"You can spend anything from $3000 for a serious handmade dress, like something I would create, but we're talking about gorgeous young girls, not red-carpet dwellers, so they don't have to spend that kind of money,'' Perry says.

Helen Creswick, from online retailer highschoolformals.com, says the formal-wear business is getting bigger every year.

“Girls as young as 13 are beginning to think and plan their Year 10 formals”, Creswick says. There is also a trend for graduation events to be held for the transition from primary to high school. Cherrybrook twins Belinda and Louise Ings, 18, who attend Asquith Girls High School, have been looking forward to this week's Year 12 formal.

They have bought new dresses worth $110 and $180 and say you don't need to spend a lot of money to be fashionable.

"I want something I can wear out again. It's a waste to spend a huge amount on something for just one night,'' Louise says.
